Wind against underground and superficial flood waters

Wind power engineering has considerable prospects for development in a Kherson region, because of large wind energy potential of seaside region, both for electrical energy supply, water-supply and taking in municipal economy, irrigation of agricultural lands and, especially, for defense of territories against underground and superficial waters.

The negative factor of development of natural-resource potential of region that declines its investment attractiveness is the biggest scale of flood and submergence of territories by underground and superficial waters among the regions of Ukraine, contamination of underground waters, which are used for the drinkable water-supply. The feed of soil waters by superficial and domestic waters, which are not practically taken outside territories of villages and also a regional pressure feed of soil waters along seaside of Black Sea and Sea of Azov and Prisivashya are the dominant factors of flood of settlements. Depending on a hydro meteorological situation and economic activity almost 300 settlements are found under threat of flood and submergence of territories by underground and superficial waters that results in violation of economic activity, economic and social losses.

After different project calculations, with the purpose of partial decline of consequences of flood and submergence of territories it is necessary annually to pump out up to 700 000000m3 of water, that in the turn needs considerable power and economic charges. The cost of basic protective measures is equal about 950 000000 of UAH.

To solve the problem of defense of territories from flood and submergence by underground and superficial waters and to prevent of his negative consequences the wind turbines equipped by powerful aquatic pumps can be used in the following manner:

·        pumping of water out from drainage mining holes situated in the area of proof flood for warning of its expansion due to the regional getting up of level of underground waters;

·        drainage water pumping with the subsequent use of it for irrigation;

·        feed and/or water-supply of rain-making machines, or other ecologically safe systems of irrigation (dripping-irrigation);

·        conducting of filtration works on main and local channels;

·        powering of the system of regional overflow-pipe on the basis of  main and local (drifts) collectors or their  separate areas-backlogs (water collectors);

 

 

Creation of the ramified network of the renewable energy systems with the scope of all districts will be instrumental in the improvement of infrastructure of settlements, providing the development of small and middle enterprises, tourist and recreation complex, resort-health complex. All these positive factors will stipulate a growth of population employment.

The Kherson region, as a region of Ukraine with greatest potential of untraditional and renewable energy sources as good as possible answers to priority directions of development of world energy. The use of all present potential of untraditional and renewable energy sources of region can approach her and Ukraine on the whole to the world standards of the energy use and to the energy-effective technologies.
